Support Us

Starting from 2008, 2^nd April is set as the “World Autism Awareness Day” by the United Nations.

The GZ-WAAD consists of a group of non-governmental organizations and we rely on contribution from our members organizations to finance the WAAD activities in GuangZhou. You are welcome to support us in the following ways:

Parents: Join our Parents Support Group to share and support each others. Presently we are only able to provide English speaking services to parents and interested individuals.

Staff: Join us to plan and organize WAAD activities in GuangZhou in March and April each year. It is a good chance to share & to exchange working experience with local and overseas NGOs and professionals.

Volunteers: Join us to plan and organize WAAD activities in GuangZhou in March and April each year.

Corporate Sponsors: Sponsor our WAAD activities either in goods or in cash. Organize your staff members to join as a Corporate Volunteer Team to show your corporate responsibilities in contributing to the society.

The following events are looking for financial sponsorship:

26 March 2009, Press Conference

26-31 March 2009, Guangzhou Autism Conference (Each donation of 100 RMB can support one parent to attend the conference)

28 March 2009, Autism Parents Sharing (GuangZhou, Hong Kong & Macau)

29 March 2009, Community Autism Exhibition

29-30 March 2009 Hong Kong Tour for Children with Autism (40 persons X @500 = RMB 20,000， Each donation of 1,000 RMB can support one child and his/her parent to join this Hong Kong trip )

30 March to 4 April 2009, Service Units Open Day

2 April 2009, GuangZhou WAAD Family Hiking

Mar./ Apr. 2009 Printing Cost for GuangZhou Autism Resources Kit

Mar./Apr. 2009 Leaflet & other printing materials

联合国倡议 - 世界关顾自闭日 每年4月2日 (由2008年开始) World Autism Awareness Day,

Autism Speaks 『自闭症代言人』美国自闭症家长倡导组织，推动联合国设立『世界关顾自闭日』的主要团体。

注意：联合国的中文WAAD翻译是采用「世界提高自闭症意识日」，广州区乃采用「世界孤独症(自闭症)日」。香港、澳门、台湾、新加坡及其它海外华人地区，就Autism Syndrome Disability (ASD)及 World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD)，采用『自闭症』和『世界关顾自闭日』等中文翻译。
